We are Barry and Kim Smith and are the owners and hosts of La Maison du Pont. We bought the property in 2014 and although we have done some of the renovation work ourselves, the construction / fitting of the en-suites and new lounge ceilings were made by D & G Building Services. We would love to welcome anyone to our home who wants to visit the area, whether it is to relax and unwind on holiday, house hunters who are looking to buy their dream home in France (Leggett Estate Agents head office is situated in the village), tourists visiting local attractions or holiday makers 'en route' to the south of France or Spain.
La Maison du Pont has been renovated throughout and comprises of three bedrooms, two good sized doubles and a single room which accommodates a double sized bed.
Although the exact age of the property is unknown, it houses some old original features, in particular the large windows in every room, giving the house a great sense of light and spaciousness. Being an old stone property it can be nice and cosy in the winter months yet lovely and cool in the summer!
There is a private garden at the rear of the property and in the summer months guests are welcome to have breakfast in the garden or maybe enjoy their own glass of wine on those hot summer evenings! For those who prefer the cool shade, a large willow tree is the welcome provider.
There is also easy access to the river for those who like to see if they can spot the Trout swimming by or the many Crayfish hiding in the riverbed!
For those of you who like walking ~ there are a number of lovely country walks in the area. Each walk offers a different experience in the changing seasons. Some of the walks are also good for cycling provided you don't mind a hill or two!
• All bedrooms have double sized beds with feather and down quilts although during the summer months lighter bedding is available.
• Tea and coffee making facilities are available in each bedroom with fresh milk available on request.
• A hairdryer is provided in each bedroom.

• Breakfast is a continental breakfast and can be taken in the dining room or in the garden and is served between 8am ~ 10am. An earlier breakfast can be provided upon request.

La Maison du Pont sits on the banks of the River Nizonne in the small village of La Rochebeaucourt-et-Argentine. Across from the river stands the grounds of the old Chateau which sadly suffered severe fire damage at the end of World War 2 before being demolished in the 1980's.
It is situated on the D939 (main road to Perigueux) facing the bridge over the river Nizonne and literally sits on the borders of the Dordogne and the Charente Departments, making it ideal for anyone wishing to explore these popular areas of France.
